Project Eight: Lighting Portrait

This was the last project of the year. This assignment required a portrait using external lighting. I was inspired by a Hollywood glamour shot. Nadia modeled and styled. She was a wonderful model and really helped pull this shot together.

Project Six: Landscape

I wanted to do something non-standard for Project Six: Landscape Assignment. The assignment required us to present photos in a sequence of at least five. My inspiration came from the lights across the river. I took these pictures at three different times throughout the evening, one in focus and one out of focus for the "bokeh" look. The final image turned out exactly as I planned!

Project Four: Places Without People

This image was for Project Four: Places Without People. I wanted to capture an image that had a physical impression of someone that had once been there to emphasize the lack of human subject.

Project 3: Social Statement

For Project Three, we were allowed to choose any social statement and create a photograph to depict it. I choose to style my image to appear like a social campaign. I created the type in Illustrator and selected a fonts from Da Font.

Project 2: Self Portrait

I took this self portrait in the lighting studio. I used two hot lights behind me and a reflector to the right for an additional glow. I found it awkward to take photos of myself, but that was the assignment...

Project 1: Insightful Portrait

This is the photo I submitted for Project One: Insightful Portrait in ART280, Intro to Photography. The class was beneficial, but I would have liked to had learned more technique and had constructive criticism. The next seven posts are my (favorite) project submissions.

*Shoutout to Liz for being the fiercest Project One model.*

All Signs Point to Fall

It's my favorite time of the year again. School is back in full swing and I'm enjoying it more than ever. Besides the colors of the trees, the best thing about this semester has been my art classes. They're a great creative outlet for me. (As seen above.)

(The last photo is me sitting at my easel in drawing class.)

Tickled Pink

I broke out my Canon today for a photo shoot...I had to brush a little dust off it, too. It felt so good to finally be taking photos again. I've been so busy lately with work Monday-Friday and family.

I've really been feeling bold colors lately, but especially pink.
